Look out for vans….

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

Within the last 28 days there have been 9 thefts from motor vehicles in the Vale of Belvoir, covering an area including Knipton, Belvoir, Bottesford, Eaton and Harby.  That averages 1 vehicle attacked every three days!

It is known that at least some of these have involved persons in a white Astra van and an ‘electric-blue’ Citroen Berlingo van.

These vehicle-borne thieves will often study the target before attacking it.  Therefore they can often be seen slowing as they pass a likely target.  It is this practice that signals “suspicious behaviour” to the sharp-eyed resident.  Leicestershire Constabulary are anxious to hear immediately (on 0116 222 2222) if anyone sees a van or persons behaving suspiciously.

Any queries, please email Paul Noone or call him on 01664 822008 or 07980 104270.
