Upper Broughton Village

The Upper Broughton History Group meets again on Thursday September 4th, for a walking tour of Seagrave with Gareth King who is their resident expert.  We are meeting Gareth outside their village pub at 7pm and afterwards we will be enjoying a glass of wine at the home of Roger and Joan Williams (ex-Upper Broughtonians) who now live in Seagrave.

The cost of the trip will be £4. Please meet us either in the Golden Fleece car park at 6.40pm or at the pub in Seagrave at 7pm.  For further information please contact Rosemary on 01664 822458 or e-mail rer412@btinternet.com.

The village will be hosting a fun cricket day on Sunday 31st August 2008 at 2pm the Upper Broughton cricket ground. The day will also include a BBQ, refreshements and a raffle.

More details will be posted on the village noticeboards.

Yoga classes will take place in the village hall on the following Wednesday mornings between 10am and 12noon:

• 10 September 2008 to 3 December 2008 (excluding 29 October 2008)
• 7 January 2009 to 1 April 2009 (excluding 18 February 2009)
• 22 April 2009 to 20 May 2009

The Village Hall will be the polling station for the following elections on 4 June 2009:

• County Council
• European Parliament

The hours of poll will be 7am to 10pm

1. Apologies were received from Coun K Keyworth, Coun. Alan Bailey, Coun. Ian Lacey and Parish Clerk Mike Elliott.

2. Minutes of previous meeting held on May 29, 2008, were accepted as presented and signed by the chairman.
